5 SIMPLE HOLIDAY ACTIVITIES TO BOND OVER WITH YOUR CHILDREN

The holidays are a time where we gather as a family, with friends, spending time together, and creating warm, wonderful memories. It’s a time where we start to wind down, for the year is coming to a close. It is the children’s favorite season of the year, because, well, presents!

1. DIY matching ugly Christmas sweaters for the family

Dig out some old sweaters and get out your craft stuff – craft glue, sprinkles, ribbons, felt etc. It’s time for some for some DIY! Guaranteed to keep your kids occupied (for half an hour at least), let your children (and yourself, too!) unleash their creativity!

2. Make a Gingerbread House

Sweetness overload! Your children will surely love this activity. Have fun decorating your very own Gingerbread house with the kids. If you have older children, you can host a mini decorating competition amongst them. Winner gets to open the first present on Christmas Day! Remember to take loads of pictures!

3. Make your own Christmas Ornaments

Start a new tradition! Let your children DIY and hang their very own special tree ornament every year. Remember to write the date on it so they can look forward to hanging up their very own handmade ornaments every year!

Sit your kids down on a lazy morning (or afternoon), and get them to write their letters to Santa. Make it a part of your kids’ holiday tradition, and you can use our printable template here. (Tip: Have fun reading the letters and you can also write replies to them as Santa!)
