Children's Names: Logan and Roman

Children's Ages: 9 and 2 years old

Share with us about your daily life, what is it like? 

These days are busy with distance learning for Logan and doing projects with Roman. Both boys have a lot of energy, so we like playing in the backyard, going on walks, and visiting with family. Roman likes puzzles, art projects, and riding his scooter. Logan likes to play baseball, ride his scooter, and play video games. We do lots of activities as a family!

What was it like: life with a newborn just after birth? Any challenges or struggles that you faced, if so, how did you deal with it? 

It was challenging with my first, because I didn’t know what to expect. The lack of sleep was difficult as I was balancing having a newborn and finishing my degree.

With my second, the newborn stage was easier because breastfeeding was so much smoother, but there were new challenges balancing a new little one and his older sibling. I learned to lean a lot on my spouse and my family - and creating my little “village” to help me in this parenting journey!

Hardest part about parenthood? 

Trying to make everyone happy and losing sight of my own needs.

Best part about parenthood? 

Hearing my kids laugh, watching them play together, and seeing them grow and develop into smart, curious, loving people.

What do you love doing with your kids? Favorite pastime, activity? 

We love traveling! We enjoy taking trips to the beach, exploring the mountains, and going on vacations to Southern California and Hawaii.

3 most important things you’d like to share about parenthood, what you’ve learnt and what advice would you give to other new parents or parents-to-be: 

1) Accept any help you’re offered. Don’t try to do it all.

2) Take time for self care. It’s ok to get a manicure, go to the gym, get a massage, or go out with friends!

3) Enjoy the little moments, because kids grow too fast. The days fly by and your tiny newborn won’t be so little anymore!
